Hezekiah was deceased by the time of the 1850 Wayne County Virginia Census which lists Lucretia as 59 years old with a daughter or granddaughter, Eliza, age 10, born in Virginia. Hezekiah reportedly died on a trip to visit relatives in Kentucky and according to the story probably is buried in Lawrence County Kentucky. However the reported year of death as 1832 would be incorrect, based upon the approximate births of his children.
