Donnie, never married, died fighting a fire at the Greater Cincinnati Airport. He was one of two fire fighters killed in an arson fire in a terminal annex building. The funeral was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Plymouth. Firemen from Cincinnati, Mansfield, Shelby, Cleveland, Columbus, and the United States Air Force filled the church to overflowing. Donnie's casket was carried to the Church and from there to the cemetary atop a fire engine. Donnie had served as a fire fighter in the Air Force, assigned in Europe, before becoming a fireman at the Greater Cincinnati Airport in Covington, Kentucky |
